Efficiency is key to a successful ad campaign. To help you scale and iterate faster, NewsBreak Ad Manager has introduced the Duplicate & Edit feature. This tool allows you to replicate an existing ad set or individual ad with a single click, allowing you to make adjustments without starting from scratch.
Why use Duplicate & Edit?
Instead of manually re-entering targeting, budgets, you can now use a high-performing setup as a template. This is ideal for:
A/B Testing: Quickly test a new headline or image while keeping the same targeting.
-
Scaling: Create a duplicate of a successful ad set to test it with a different budget or in a new location.
Note that the Duplicate & Edit does not copy over creatives and ads
Copy vs. Duplicate & Edit: What’s the Difference?
While both features help you replicate content, they serve different purposes:
Duplicate & Edit: This is designed for quick, single-item replication where you intend to make immediate changes to a specific ad set before launching. Learn more here.
Copy: This is a comprehensive tool that allows you to clone the entire ad set configuration and, crucially, gives you the option to include all associated ads in the new version. Learn more here.
We plan to streamline these features into a single experience soon. In the meantime, we wanted to provide you with both options immediately for maximum flexibility.
How to Duplicate an Ad Set or Ad
Navigate to Ad Management: Log in to your Ad Manager account and click on the Ad Management tab in the left-hand sidebar.
Select Your Level: Choose the Ad sets depending on which you wish to duplicate.
-
Locate the Action Menu: * Find the specific ad set or ad you want to replicate.
Click the three vertical dots (⋮) in the Action column next to the "Edit" button.
Select "Duplicate & Edit": A dropdown menu will appear. Click Duplicate & Edit.
-
Customize and Publish: * The system will generate a duplicate (e.g., "copy of [Original Name]").
The edit pane will open automatically. Update your targeting, budget, or platform as needed.
Click Submit or Save to launch your new ad set or ad.
Best Practices
[!TIP] Avoid Audience Overlap: If you duplicate an ad set and keep the targeting identical, your ads may compete against each other in the same auction. We recommend changing at least one variable (like location, age, or interest) in the new duplicate.
Rename Your Duplicates: To keep your dashboard organized, immediately rename the duplicated item to reflect the change you made (e.g., "zy-banner-max-0205_NewCreative").
Monitor the Learning Phase: Remember that a duplicated ad set is treated as a new entity and will enter a brief Learning Phase to optimize delivery.
