Welcome to our guide on integrating AppsFlyer with NewsBreak! Follow these steps to connect your mobile app data and enable accurate event attribution and performance tracking.
1. Head to AppsFlyer, search for the package name in the APP ID field and open its overview page.
2. Go to Configuration > Integrated Partners. Search for “NewsBreak“ as the integrated partner and click on it to open the configuration page.
3. Go to Collaborate > Active Integration, open the Integration tab, and turn on Activate Partner.
4. Navigate to the Integration tab, disable the Advanced Privacy setting.
By default, AppsFlyer does not provide device-level attribution data for devices running iOS 14.5+ or later. Without access to the IDFA, NewsBreak’s algorithm cannot properly learn from the data, which may significantly impact the performance of your ad campaigns.
To ensure optimal UA performance, please authorize NewsBreak to access the IDFA as follows:
5. In the Integration tab, enable the Install View-through Attribution.
View-through installs will only be sent to NewsBreak after view-through attribution is enabled.
6. In the Integration tab, set up the Default Postbacks.
Select “All media sources, including organic” from the drop-down menu for each event. This allows NewsBreak to receive all postback data, including NewsBreak-attributed, unattributed, and organic events.
💡Note: Unattributed postbacks don't include any media source information.
7. In the Integration tab, enable the In-app Event Postbacks & configure the In-app Event Window.
We recommend selecting “Lifetime” for the in-app event window to allow NewsBreak to receive in-app event data for the entire duration of user activity. This helps improve campaign optimization and performance.
8. Under In-app Event Postbacks, select the relevant events to send to NewsBreak
Select “All media sources, including organic” from the drop-down menu for each event.
💡 Tip: It is highly recommended to send as much in-app event data as possible. This helps our algorithm more accurately assess user value based on in-app behavior. Recommended events to postback include af_app_opened, af_purchase, af_ad_revenue or other purchase-related events, as well as game-level events, etc.
Please ensure that you copy the exact NewsBreak event type into AppsFlyer for event mapping.
Refer to the screenshot below to find all supported event types in Ad Manager.
9. Navigate to the Attribution Link tab, obtain the Click and View-through Attribution links.
💡 Tip: Make sure both links are enabled in the NewsBreak offer for tracking purposes
💡 Tip: All agency partners are required to include the af_prt parameter in their AppsFlyer setup and share your af_prt value with NewsBreak by contacting their NewsBreak account manager. This is necessary to enable proper attribution tracking. For more details, please refer to the AppsFlyer documentation here.
