Welcome to our guide on setting up a NewsBreak Postback through Clickflare! Follow these simple steps to successfully track and exchange information between servers. Before following these instructions, please make sure to set up your offer first.
1. Log in to your Clickflare account, head to Traffic Sources on the left hand panel, search "NewsBreak" and add it as a traffic source.
This should open up the ‘Newsbreak Template’ with the values already filled in.
💡Please note that our __CALLBACK_PARAM__ (which is essential for tracking the clicks) is already filled in ‘TS TOKEN’. The ‘TS Parameter’ and ‘Name’ could be anything but the token needs to be __CALLBACK_PARAM__
Please refer to the screenshot below for a frame of reference:
2. Next, head to the ‘Passing conversion info to traffic source’ section and enable the 'Traffic source postback URL' (this should have the endpoint details already filled in).
Then, replace the event_type with the specific event type you want to track (e.g., add to cart, purchase, etc.) If this is not replaced we will not be able to receive conversion events.
3. Click ‘Save’ to save the template. See below for the confirmation screenshot.
4. Head to your campaign section or select an existing campaign. From the dropdown, select 'NewsBreak' as your Traffic Source and click 'Next.'
💡Please make sure that the checkbox shown below is NOT disabled!
5. Select the 'Lander' and the 'Offer' you want to use for the campaign and hit 'Save.'
The tracking URL for the campaign will look similar to this: https://webeasyhit.com/cf/r/66952227afc8b80012d201e9?CALLBACK_PARAM=__CALLBACK_PARAM__&OS=__OS__&CAMPAIGN_ID=__CAMPAIGN_ID__&CAMPAIGN_NAME=__CAMPAIGN_NAME__&FLIGHT_ID=__FLIGHT_ID__&FLIGHT_NAME=__FLIGHT_NAME__&CREATIVE_ID=__CREATIVE_ID__&CREATIVE_NAME=__CREATIVE_NAME__
💡Please note that this is the tracking URL we will use to test the Postback in NewsBreak's Ad Manager where the click macro ‘__CALLBACK_PARAM__’ is being used to pass our click id.
6. Switch windows by logging into your NewsBreak Ad Manager account and head to the Event Management tab. Here you will click 'Create/Test Event.' Fill out the required fields and choose Clickflare as the 3rd party tracking service. Select the exact 'Event Type' used in Clickflare earlier (such as Add to Cart or Complete Payment).
7. Scroll down to the Test URL field, enter the Campaign Tracking URL from Clickflare and click 'Go test.'
