Welcome to our Billing FAQ Guide! This comprehensive resource is designed to address all your queries and concerns related to payments, invoicing, and charges on Ad Manager.
How does billing work?
In order to run a campaign, you need to add funds. For billing, you have 2 main options: Autopay and Prepay. Autopay is the preferred payment method, wherein you store a credit card on file, and you are charged when the billing threshold is met or when the billing date is reached at the end of the month. On the other hand, Prepay is used if you want to add credits to your account before you run ads.
*We do offer an invoicing (postpaid) payment option as well, please contact your NewsBreak seller for more information.
✍️Note that ad credits are always used before your primary payment method and they do not expire.
Steps for Autopay
- Access the Billing Section.
- Click 'add payment method.'
- Provide credit card information and save.
Steps for Prepay
- Access the Billing Section.
- Under Ad Credits, click on ‘Add ad credits.'
- Select the amount of ad credits you would like to purchase.
- Provide credit card information and pay.
💡Pro tip: We recommend always having a primary payment method on file, even if you’re only paying with ad credits.
How are the charges calculated?
Charges are calculated based on the scheduling, bid rate, and budget for your ad set. For example, if you set a one-week-long campaign with a bid rate of $4 and a daily budget of $20, your total ad set budget will be $160. Then, once your campaign reaches the set limit, it will pause automatically to prevent any further charges.
Can I change my payment method?
Once you upload your primary payment method, you cannot take your credit card off your account. You can only update your payment method with another card.
How can I dispute a billing issue or request a refund?
Please submit a request to adsupport@newsbreak.com and allow 2-3 days for our team to investigate.
Why was my card charged $10 but I haven't run any ads yet?
We have a temporary $10 card authorization fee. If you run ads, this amount goes towards your advertising budget; otherwise, if you don't run ads, it will be fully refunded. The payment amount is held for 7 days, and if not captured within this time, Stripe cancels the payment and releases the funds.
My card payment failed but I know I have enough funds. What should my next steps be?
We recommend contacting your bank to resolve the payment matter or add a different payment method; If you choose to update your account with a different payment method, don't forget to resubmit your ads! Another short-term solution is to add ad credits to your account.
Are you able to transfer ad credits?
No, unfortunately, ad credits cannot be transferred to another ad account. Ad credits are non-transferable and are intended to be used solely within the account they were originally issued to.
