Welcome! Voluum, a leading performance marketing tracking platform, has recently integrated with NewsBreak; this article will teach you how to connect your Voluum Tracker with NewsBreak's Ad Platform for enhanced reporting and event insights.
1. In Voluum, go to Tracker → Traffic Sources → Create → select NewsBreak template. All NewsBreak macros (parameters & tokens) are already there – simply click the Save button. The macros will be automatically appended to the Voluum Campaign URL.
The values in the Name and TS parameter columns can be customized.
The values in the TS token column must stay as they are.
Spaces are not allowed when changing/editing any of the values.
2. Create your Campaign in Voluum using NewsBreak as the Traffic Source. In the Tracking & Automizer section, get your Campaign URL – this will be your Voluum tracking URL to be added to the NewsBreak campaign as a Landing Page URL:
For each visit to your ad, the visitor should be taken to the Voluum Campaign URL (that will redirect him/her to your landing page). While the visit happens, Voluum will record the NewsBreak Click ID and other macros that are appended in the Campaign URL.

3. Create an event and get your NewsBreak Postback URL:
- In NewsBreak, go to Event management;
- Select WebEvents → Create/test web event;
- Name the event, select Postback, choose Voluum as the tracking service and choose your event type. You could also turn on Event value if you have a value associated with this event. Code and instruction will be generated after you filled all required fields.
- An endpoint URL will be generated base on your inputs as shown below, this is the URL you'll need to paste in "Traffic source postback URL" in Voluum.
4. Add the copied URL in the NewsBreak Traffic Source element in Voluum as the Traffic source postback URL. Keep in mind that the callback= parameter must be matched with {externalid} dynamic token to pass the NewsBreak Click ID back to NewsBreak:
If you record Custom conversions in Voluum and would like to pass different events to NewsBreak, create the relevant events in your NewsBreak account, get separate URLs for them, and implement each as a Traffic source postback URL per event type (relevant to the Custom conversion that you record in Voluum):
